Added Value of Social Networks

Social network added value is based on how well it can be used to evaluate information on Individuals and groups of individuals. The social graph surrounding an entity which is even weakly interacting with the social space is harder to fake or collude. Unlike previous Internet culture where anonymity often breeds deceitful behavior, in social networks individuals are discouraged by the openness of the system. Also the more they interact with other users the more collusion would be required to maintain such deception.

Despite their added value the richer Social  Networks are rapidly changing and therefore expensive to track and organize. Current social site operators have not been able to mine their users graphs efficiently to generate superior marketing or advertising advantages. However this is expected to change in the near future.
